Designed and built end-to-end for a growing, multi-site project management office — a structured 90-day onboarding journey that turns scattered institutional knowledge into a guided, trackable program for every new PM and coordinator.
Each module is a self-paced video lesson — click one for a closer look at what it covers.
A single orientation video that sets the stage before day one — what the organization does, who its customers are, and where the business operates. New hires leave this module with the big-picture context every later module builds on, so the org chart and tools that follow actually make sense.
Maps the PMO in practical terms: who a new hire reports to, who to ask for what, and how to get help on day one. The module also walks through the core software stack used daily and the account setup required before a new hire can start real work.
Walks the full project lifecycle end-to-end — the five phases every project in this PMO moves through, from a signed scope of work to final close-out — and pairs each phase with the standard operating procedure behind it. This is the conceptual map every later module builds on.
A series of short, task-by-task screen-recorded walkthroughs of the core business system: setting up a new project record, moving a ticket to its next status, scheduling delivery, and finding the right account contact. Built to double as a reference a new hire can replay mid-task, not just a one-time lesson.
Covers the three recurring admin tasks that keep a project financially on track: logging time correctly and on deadline, generating an invoice once a customer signs off, and the proper process for a change order when scope, schedule, or cost shifts mid-project.
Sets the standard for every client-facing touchpoint a project manager owns — running a kickoff call, sending weekly status updates, recapping a call in writing, briefing the field team ahead of an install day, and closing out a day's work with a client-ready report — each paired with a copy-ready template.
A technical walkthrough of what happens before hardware reaches a customer site: asset tagging and inventory, device imaging, Chromebook fleet management, and Apple device provisioning. Gives a new project manager enough fluency to talk through a device-prep timeline with a client.
Covers the back half of the hardware lifecycle: asset etching for identification, the sign-off process that confirms a device is ready to ship, delivery and on-site deployment, and an eight-step playbook for handling an in-warranty repair.
Specialized procedures for rugged-device and public-safety deployment projects — what's handled in-house versus by outside vendors, how to plan around vehicle and site availability, tracking every unit and its hardware, and the compliance and quality-control standards that apply.
Covers the AV side of the business: standard versus advanced solution tiers, common install environments like collaboration rooms, video walls, boardrooms, and courtrooms, the discovery questions to ask a client up front, and how to plan an install from kickoff through handoff.
Lays out the full 90-day arc in one place — who to meet along the way, eight hands-on readiness checks that mark real progress rather than just time served, and the shadow-then-co-lead-then-lead progression that defines when a new hire is ready to run a project solo.
Not a linear lesson but a searchable reference library — every SOP, every training video from the curriculum, templates, a directory of who's who across the organization, and a glossary of PMO terms. Built to be reopened in week six, not just week one.
The final assessment: a new hire runs one real project independently, from a signed scope of work through a lessons-learned debrief, producing every document a project manager is expected to send along the way — reviewed throughout by a mentor and the PMO lead.
New project managers and coordinators were ramping up on scattered notes, hallway knowledge, and whatever their mentor had time to explain between projects. There was no single source of truth for how a project actually runs, who owns what, or what “good” looks like in the first 90 days.
I designed and built a complete onboarding and training program from the ground up — instructional design, content, and the learning platform itself. It moves a new hire through five structured phases: Pre-Work (orientation, team & tools), Week 1 (how a project runs, core business systems), Week 2 (customer communication and a capstone project), Services Deep-Dive (hands-on technical modules covering device tagging, imaging, Chromebook and Apple deployment, etching, and sign-offs), and Own It (independent ownership, backed by a standing reference library of org structure, culture, and recorded training videos).
Every phase is trackable, not just readable. Built-in knowledge checks after each module, a shared shadow & 1:1 log, and enrollment/completion dashboards mean mentors and leadership can see exactly where a new hire stands — and the program itself improves with feedback from every cohort.
I piloted the content as a living knowledge base, then migrated the full program into a dedicated learning platform I set up and now administer — adding structured completion tracking, scored knowledge checks, and reporting that didn't exist before.
The full 90-day path — orientation, process training, hands-on technical modules, and a capstone project, with a knowledge check at every stage.
A parallel view for the assigned mentor — what's been covered, what's next, and a shared shadow & 1:1 log to anchor regular check-ins.
Enrollment and completion dashboards across every new hire and cohort, so leadership always knows exactly where ramp-up stands.
